Job summary

Morgan Construction and Environmental Ltd. seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support heavy civil construction projects in Nevada. The role emphasizes safety, contract administration, and coordination with site teams to meet project goals.

You will work a rotation schedule, often 14/7, with 12-hour days/nights. Requires post-secondary technical training and 2+ years in civil construction; MS Office/Project proficiency is preferred, with OSHA certifications if required.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary technical training; civil construction experience is a plus.
  • Experience with MS Office or MS Project preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse groups including clients and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to obtain OSHA 10-Construction and OSHA 40 Hazwoper if required by project scope.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the corporate safety program to maintain safety excellence.
  • Assist with establishment and administration of performance measurement systems to meet client service and contract expectations.
  • Assist with contract administration, including change orders, disputes, reviews, and quarterly evaluations.
  • Work with site superintendents and field supervisors to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards while closing gaps in risk reduction plans.
  • Identify and coordinate projects to maximize resource use and align with budget and schedule.
  • Support quality system applications including RFIs and related processes.
  • Resolve issues with internal and external clients while maintaining positive relationships.

We are currently accepting applications to support multiple projects in Nevada.

Rotation

Project dependent, most commonly 14/7

Shift

12 Hours (Days and Nights)

Lodging & Food

Lodging OR Living / Subsistence Allowance will be provided.

Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Successful completion of Alcohol and Drug Screening
  • MSHA Part 48
All Morgan Field Based Workers and Equipment Operators must
  • Be physically conditioned to repetitively and safely lift up to 50lbs.
  • Work a rotational schedule, up to 12 hours a day, for both day or night shifts as required and subject to change depending on project needs.
  • Expect to handle noise and vibrations on the job.
  • Be prepared for and willing to perform additional labour duties as / when required.
  • Embrace the elements by working outdoors in all weather conditions. Whether it's rain, shine, or snow, you'll need to thrive in diverse weather environments.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance within the corporate safety program to maintain excellence in safety performance.
  • Assist with the establishment and administration of performance measurement systems to meet client service and contract expectations.
  • Assist with contract administration, including change order management, dispute resolution, contract review, annual contract performance evaluations, and quarterly contract review stewardships.
  • Work closely with site superintendents and their field supervisors to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure that all company and subcontractor relationships and operations meet any applicable industry and regulatory standards while ensuring all gaps are closed in relation to risk reduction plans.
  • Identify and coordinate projects and production to ensure maximum resource utilization and adherence to budget and schedule.
  • Assist with the application of corporate quality system including Requests for Information.
  • Resolve issues as they arise with internal and external clients while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Champion our safety culture by adhering to Morgan's Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies by demonstrating a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of the surrounding environment and potential hazards, such as other equipment or personnel. Perform JSA and FLHA’s as required.
  • Demonstrate exceptional judgement and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrating versatility in collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownerships of tasks.
  • Operate 2-way radio
  • Other duties as / when assigned
Experience / Qualification Requirements

Our ideal candidates will have

  • Post-Secondary technical training. Experience in the civil construction industry is a strong asset
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office, MS Project, or similar software programs.
  • Ability to form strong working relationships with diverse groups of people, including company employees at all levels, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Team Player with the desire to grow into a strong leader in the heavy civil construction industry
  • Ability to successfully manage heavy workloads with multiple priorities.
  • Have or be willing to obtain OSHA 10-Construction and OSHA 40 Hazwoper certifcates if required by the project scope
  • Minimum of 2 years experience
