Garney is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Newport News, VA to join a team in the Water and Waste-Water Construction industry. The role focuses on supporting project management tasks, reviewing shop drawings, coordinating scheduling, drafting, and maintaining site documentation.

The candidate should have a civil/mechanical/construction management degree with 4–7 years of construction experience and be willing to travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field.
• 4-7 years of construction experience.
• Willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Process and review shop drawings.
• Work with the project scheduling system.
• Perform detailed drafting.
• Serve as owner and architect/engineer contact.
• Purchase materials.
• Survey construction job site.
• Update as-built documents.
• Oversee job site safety.
• Track, audit, and project labor hours.
• Coordinate subcontractors.
• Complete daily and periodic report updates.
