Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for the Southeast US, including Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville and Charlotte. The role supports PMs on transmission, distribution, and related projects, coordinating with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.

This position requires a bachelor's in engineering or construction management, 5 years of experience, and strong communication. Travel up to 30% may be required, with a focus on achieving project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management from an accredited program.
• 5 years of applicable experience in project management or construction.
• PMP or similar certification preferred.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25–30% and work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Support project management teams plan, execute and monitor projects through all stages.
• Coordinate with owners, contractors, subcontractors and internal staff.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, field design changes and site drawing logs.
• Verify contractor compliance including quality, safety and environmental programs.
• Assist with cost reporting, scheduling, WBS, cost control and closeout.
