Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for the Transmission & Distribution practice across the southeastern United States, with offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chattanooga and Nashville. The APM will support project managers on varied scopes, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and assist with project controls and documentation.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management and 5 years of relevant experience; PMP or similar

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or Construction Management from an accredited program.
• 5+ years of applicable experience in project management contexts.
• PMP or similar certification preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment and work overtime on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Management Teams plan, execute and monitor projects through all stages.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders; manage submittals and RFIs.
• Verify contractor compliance (quality, safety, environmental, and materials).
• Assist with contracts including change orders, invoices, and scheduling management.
• Support project controls: cost reporting, scheduling, WBS, setup and closeout in accounting systems.
• Develop internal and external reports: budgets, cash flow, status reports.
