Job summary

Parkhill is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, coordination, and delivery of projects in the Arlington, TX area. Working with Project Managers, design and construction teams, clients, and consultants, you will assist with scope, schedule, budget, risk, and documentation to ensure successful project outcomes.

The role offers exposure to traditional PM, Owner's Representative, and program management assignments, with increasing responsibility as experience grows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, PM, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years in the AEC industry or project coordination roles.
  • Working knowledge of scope management, scheduling, budgeting, contract coordination, and project financial tracking.
  • Experience with billing processes, resource planning, and budget monitoring.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.
  • PM certification (CAPM, PMP, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects from initiation through closeout.
  • Assists with developing and maintaining project scope, schedules, budgets, work plans, fee structures, forecasts, and other project management documentation.
  • Coordinates activities among clients, design teams, consultants, contractors, construction managers, and other stakeholders to support timely decision-making and successful project delivery.
  • Monitors project schedules, milestones, deliverables, action items, budgets, and expenditures; assists with mitigation of risks, delays, conflicts, or variances.
  • Supports procurement, contracting, and change management activities, including consultant coordination, contractor procurement, proposal evaluation, contract administration, approval tracking, and assessment of project impacts.
  • Assists with design and construction phase coordination by tracking deliverables, facilitating reviews, documenting decisions and comments, and monitoring resolutions of issues.
  • Participates in client, design, construction, and stakeholder meetings; assists with meeting preparation, documentation, follow-up, and tracking commitments to completion.
  • Prepares and maintains project reports, dashboards, presentations, correspondence, logs, and other internal and client-facing communications.
  • Tracks and maintains project risks, issues, decisions, changes, and project information within project management and financial systems, ensuring QA/QC and administrative procedures.
  • Assists with project closeout activities, including documentation, financial reconciliation, lessons learned, outstanding items, and transition/turnover requirements.
  • Develops and applies knowledge of PM, program management, project controls, and Owner's Representative services.

Overview

The Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects from initiation through closeout. Working alongside Project Managers, design teams, construction teams, clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders, this role assists with scope, schedule, budget, risk, communication, documentation, and overall project coordination. The Assistant Project Manager may support traditional project management, Owner's Representative, and program management assignments depending on project needs and assumes increasing responsibility as experience and proficiency develop. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities


  • Supports Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects from initiation through closeout.

  • Coordinates activities among clients, design teams, consultants, contractors, construction managers, and other stakeholders to support timely decision-making and successful project delivery.

  • Monitors project schedules, milestones, deliverables, action items, budgets, and expenditures; identifies potential risks, delays, conflicts, or variances and assists with mitigation strategies.

  • Supports procurement, contracting, and change management activities, including consultant coordination, contractor procurement, proposal evaluation, contract administration, approval tracking, and assessment of project impacts.

  • Assists with design and construction phase coordination by tracking deliverables, facilitating reviews, documenting decisions and comments, and monitoring resolution of issues affecting project objectives.

  • Participates in client, design, construction, and stakeholder meetings; assists with meeting preparation, documentation, follow-up, and tracking commitments to completion.

  • Prepares and maintains project reports, dashboards, presentations, correspondence, logs, and other internal and client-facing communications.

  • Tracks and maintains project risks, issues, decisions, changes, and project information within project management and financial systems, ensuring compliance with established QA/QC, project management, and administrative procedures.

  • Assists with project closeout activities, including documentation, financial reconciliation, lessons learned, outstanding items, and transition or turnover requirements.

  • Develops and applies knowledge of project management, program management, project controls, and Owner's Representative services in accordance with established standards and procedures.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in the AEC industry, project coordination, or project support roles.

  • Working knowledge of project management principles, including scope management, scheduling, budgeting, contract coordination, and project financial tracking.

  • Experience with billing processes, resource planning, and budget monitoring.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.

  • Project management certification (CAPM, PMP, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
