Job summary

TDIndustries is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support and coordinate construction projects, including new facilities, expansions and renovations. You will develop project schedules, assign tasks and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to maintain progress and deadlines.

You will gain exposure to project estimates, assist estimators, and work in the field with production crews to understand mechanical systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Sciences, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines is mandatory.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; proactive approach.

Responsibilities

  • Plan work schedules with project managers and coordinate project activities within budget.
  • Work in the field with production crews to understand lifecycle on the job site and learn about mechanical systems.
  • Prepare reports, studies and analyses; compile project closeout documentation.
  • Assist estimators with cost reviews, material takeoffs and pricing for scope changes and new projects.
  • Visit job sites, inspect work, track progress, and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate information flow among project manager, superintendent, GC, suppliers and vendors.
  • Assist management in developing relationships with owners, contractors and partners.
  • Draft/edit letters, memos, reports, and procedures for review by the Project Manager.
  • Communicate project issues to management in a timely manner.

Job Summary

The Assistant Project Manager supports and coordinates construction projects including new facility development, facility expansions, and renovations. They collaborate closely with the project team, construction site personnel, and management to ensure seamless execution. They develop project schedules, assigns tasks, and defines responsibilities for team members throughout the project lifecycle and oversees construction personnel and manages the timely delivery of materials and equipment to maintain project progress and deadlines.

Essential Duties
  • Collaborates with project managers to meticulously plan work schedules and coordinate project activities, ensuring timely progress within budget constraints. Manages daily administrative tasks such as submittals, material requisitions, and requests for information under the guidance of the Project Manager.
  • Works in the field with production crews to gain an understanding of life on the job site and to learn more about mechanical systems including plumbing, ductwork, piping, and equipment.
  • Participates in preparing special reports, conducting studies, and performing statistical analysis that involves research, data interpretation, and validation by the supervisor. Responsible for compiling comprehensive project closeout documentation.
  • Becomes exposed to project estimates and is shown how the estimate breakout is processed into the job cost system. Assists estimators in cost review proposals for new projects. Learns material takeoff, estimating and pricing procedures for changes to work scope as well as for new project estimating.
  • Visits job sites and performs work inspections, checks job progress, and resolves project and contract issues.
  • Coordinates distribution and retrieval of information to and from the project manager, superintendent, general contractor, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Assists management and marketing in developing and maintaining strong business relationships with owners, contractors, vendors, and other company personnel.
  • Drafts and/or edits letters, memos, reports, and procedures as required for review by a Project Manager.
  • Communicates all project issues to the appropriate level of management in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degrees in Construction Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering disciplines are mandatory.

Candidates must have 0-2 years of relevant experience.

Strong organizational skills are essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach.
