Job summary

Dennett Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. You will assist the Project Manager with schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and documentation, ensuring projects finish on time and within budget.

The role also offers growth potential to take ownership of smaller projects with oversight, paving a path toward a Project Manager position. Split between office and active job sites with some travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of construction experience as Assistant Project Manager.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with Procore construction management software preferred.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar tools preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining project schedules and budgets.
• Manage smaller-scale projects independently with oversight, including coordination of subcontractors, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to support long-term partnerships and repeat business.
• Help manage client expectations and ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Coordinate subcontractors and vendors, tracking performance, progress, and material deliveries.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing contracts, purchase orders, and scopes of work.
• Schedule and attend project meetings; document and distribute meeting minutes and action items.
• Monitor job site progress and support quality control and safety compliance efforts.
• Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including reports, logs, and photos.
• Act as a liaison between field teams, office staff, and clients to ensure clear communication.
• Support project closeout, including punch list coordination and final documentation.
• Proactively identify potential issues and assist in implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
