Job summary

Ashton North LLC in the Richmond, VA area is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support heavy civil and highway projects. You will work closely with a Senior Project Manager, handling submittals, RFIs, procurement, and cost tracking from day one.

The role emphasizes hands-on responsibility, owner/inspector liaison, and growing into independent project management within a team known for mentorship and long-standing Virginia infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience on heavy civil, highway, or utility projects is required.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling and cost tracking.
• BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent field experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive submittals, RFIs, and procurement schedules to keep field work ahead.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supplier purchase orders to protect schedule.
• Track quantities, production, and costs against budget and flag variances.
• Support monthly payment requisitions and cost projections.
• Attend weekly project team meetings on schedule and cost review.
