Job summary

Soap Creek Resources is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a large multiyear highway program in Lakeland, FL. The role supports cost, schedule, and resource planning and works on subcontracts, RFIs, and pay estimates to keep projects on budget and on schedule.

Applicants should have a 4-year degree in CM/CS/CE and 3+ years in heavy civil highway or bridge projects. Relocation to Central Florida is welcome; DOT experience is a plus and Primavera P6/HCSS/Bluebeam skills help.

Qualifications

• 3+ years on heavy civil highway or bridge projects as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer or APM
• Four year degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or Civil Engineering
• Strong with submittals, RFIs, quantities and pay estimates
• FDOT or Turnpike experience is a plus
• Clear writer and communicator under schedule pressure
• Primavera P6, HCSS or Bluebeam is a plus
• Based in Central Florida or ready to relocate to the Lakeland area

Responsibilities

• Administer subcontracts and purchase orders, and coordinate subs and suppliers
• Manage submittals, RFIs and change order paperwork with the owner
• Track quantities, pay items and monthly pay estimates
• Coordinate crews, material and equipment with the superintendents
• Keep permits, licenses and project documentation current
• Help update the schedule and the cost forecast
• Back the field on safety and quality
• Report progress to the project manager and the owner

An established heavy civil contractor is hiring an Assistant Project Manager for a large multiyear highway program in the Lakeland and Polk County area. This is a strong next step for a Project Engineer ready to move up, or an APM who wants a big job with a long runway and a stable employer. You'll work alongside the project manager on planning, subcontracts and contract administration so the job stays on budget and on schedule, much of it state highway work. Central Florida locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What You'll Be Responsible For
