Job summary

AlphaGov is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial construction, renovation, and tenant improvement projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will work with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and clients to coordinate activities, track schedules and costs, and keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial construction or related roles.
• Experience with a general contractor on commercial, renovation or tenant improvement projects.
• Strong understanding of drawings, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and project documentation.
• Effective communication with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, superintendents, and clients.
• Bachelor's degree in CM, Civil Eng, or related field preferred; equivalent construction experience considered.
• Commercial construction experience required; residential-only experience not meeting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial construction projects through preconstruction, procurement, construction, and closeout.
• Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, correspondence, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors on scopes, schedules, materials, and outstanding requirements.
• Review construction drawings and specifications to identify conflicts, missing information, and potential project issues.
• Assist with project scheduling and monitor progress against key milestones.
• Participate in project meetings with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams while tracking action items and follow-ups.
• Assist with cost tracking, commitments, invoices, change orders, and other project financial documentation.
• Visit active jobsites to document progress, verify field conditions, and coordinate with field personnel.
• Support punch-list activities, final inspections, warranty requirements, and project closeout.
• Identify potential delays, coordination issues, and project risks and communicate them to the Project Manager.
• Take on increasing responsibility as construction knowledge and project management skills develop
