Job summary

McShane Construction seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support multi-family, industrial, and commercial projects in Madison, WI. You will assist with proposals, schedules, controls, and quality processes, while learning to lead projects under a PM.

The role emphasizes safety, budget adherence, and collaboration with field teams. The position requires a 3+ year background in construction management, a degree in a related field, and the ability to work on-site split between the local office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction management.
• Knowledge of project controls, construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Ability to use or learn construction management software (CMiC, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preconstruction activities, including proposals review and preliminary schedules.
• Support project controls by handling contracts, change orders, and risk plans.
• Help develop and update project schedules; monitor progress against milestones.
• Support quality management by implementing standards and addressing issues from inspections.
• Promote site safety; enforce Safety Program and conduct audits.
