Job summary

Insight Executive Solutions is partnering with a NYC-based General Contractor to hire an experienced Assistant Project Manager for ground-up construction projects. You will support the Project Manager, review drawings and specs, assist with budgets and schedules, and coordinate with subcontractors and clients through preconstruction to turnover.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of construction experience, strong communication, and a degree in Construction Management or Engineering

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of construction experience.
• Ground-up construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with multifamily, affordable housing or mixed-use projects is desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specs and project documentation.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with day-to-day management of ground-up construction projects.
• Assist with project budgets, schedules and overall project coordination.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs and submittals.
• Prepare, track and distribute RFI and submittal logs.
• Assist with change orders, requisitions and payment applications.
• Review subcontractor scopes, contracts and commitments.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, engineers and consultants.
• Attend and contribute to project meetings and coordination meetings.
• Assist with project scheduling and monitoring progress against key milestones.
• Review subcontractor work and ensure documentation is maintained.
• Support the Project Manager with cost control and forecasting.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
• Help identify potential project issues and work with the team to resolve them.
• Assist through closeout, punch list and turnover.
