Job summary

Old Dominion Firestopping is seeking an organized Assistant Project Manager to support our project teams in delivering high-quality firestopping solutions. We provide complete firestopping services to restore the required fire rating for through-penetrations and joint applications, ensuring safety and compliance on every project.

In this role, you will oversee smaller projects from start to finish under the guidance of an experienced Project Manager.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher with 3+ years in construction or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field with 1+ year construction experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to read blueprints and complex drawings.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in scheduling, budgeting, and project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct project activities on smaller projects to meet milestones.
  • Identify and resolve project-related issues as they arise.
  • Support safety programs to maintain a zero-accident environment.
  • Organize project trackers and submit project documents.
  • Prepare and review submittals; coordinate with Project Manager for larger projects.
  • Maintain project logs, schedules, and turnover documents.
  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders and manage client relationships.
  • Assist field personnel and coordinate labor needs with construction managers.
