Job summary

Our client, a growing general contractor in Mount Prospect, IL, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to work closely with experienced PMs on federal and commercial projects. You will help develop schedules, budgets, and execution plans while coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams.

This role offers exposure to project forecasting, cost tracking, and contract compliance, with a path toward advancing into a Project Manager role within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial construction is preferred.
• Federal construction experience is highly preferred.
• Strong scheduling and PM principles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with project documentation and client communications.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in managing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, field teams, owners, architects, and engineers.
• Assist with managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
• Track project progress, deliverables, and outstanding items to keep on schedule and budget.
• Assist with reviewing subcontractor and supplier invoices, commitments, and project costs.
• Support project forecasting, financial reporting, and budget tracking.
• Help monitor compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Assist with identifying project risks, resolving issues, and implementing solutions.
• Maintain organized and accurate project files and documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate with stakeholders.
• Support the Project Manager and field team with day-to-day project coordination and administration.
