Job summary

IAPMO is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale mixed-use developments with a hands-on leadership team. You will collaborate with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, architects, and ownership to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

The role offers exposure to preconstruction through closeout, with opportunities for growth into project management in a collaborative, family-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in construction project coordination or assistant project management.
  • Strong proficiency with Procore is required.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both office and field teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination.
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and progress updates.
  • Maintain drawing sets, specifications, CAD files, and construction documents.
  • Conduct site visits and assist with quality control and safety efforts.
  • Support project closeout and punch list completion.
  • Attend meetings and document meeting minutes/action items.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting projects from preconstruction through closeout. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, architects, and ownership to help keep projects running smoothly, on schedule, and within budget.

  • Maintaining drawing logs and project documentation
  • Tracking budgets, invoices, purchase orders, and change orders
  • Updating schedules and monitoring project progress
  • Creating daily logs and field reports
  • Managing meeting minutes and project records
  • Assisting with punch list tracking and project closeout documentation
