Job Description

A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Hunt Communities, the Assistant Project Manager - Development will collaborate with the development team to advance land development and master planned community projects of Hunt Companies in Central Texas. The role involves supporting project controls, land holdings, and all aspects of land development, including maintaining project status reports, participating in meetings, and coordinating with consultants, municipal, and county staff. The Assistant PM will assist in managing a team of planning, engineering, property management, construction, and legal consultants in the development, management, and sale of residential and commercial subdivisions.

What You Will Do

  • Support the Vice President - Development Operations and Project Managers in coordinating residential master-planned community development activities.
  • Assist in preparing concept plans, schedules, and preliminary estimates.
  • Coordinate with municipal utility districts and manage related activities and reimbursements.
  • Develop and maintain project status reports, identifying critical paths and ensuring steady progress.
  • Engage regularly with agencies and stakeholders involved in each project.
  • Assist with reports and plans for the Vice President - Finance and other leadership as needed.
  • Review home plans submitted by builders for compliance with guidelines.
  • Familiarize with municipal and county development regulations.
  • Coordinate with municipal and county staff on subdivision projects.
  • Participate in project meetings and support subdivision development efforts.
  • Collect and analyze housing market data and trends for reports.
  • Support the Vice President of Commercial Sales and other senior leaders with various tasks.
  • Conduct due diligence for potential land acquisitions and manage landholdings.
  • Understand federal land development regulations and support related compliance activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, finance, business, construction management, real estate, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in land development, homebuilding, or construction management.
  • Understanding of construction plans, planning, permitting, and entitlement processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and internet tools.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop project schedules, prioritize tasks, and work independently or in teams.
