Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC in the Richmond, Virginia area is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project delivery across multiple sites.

You will work with the Project Manager to plan, schedule, coordinate contracts, manage resources and budgets, and ensure safety and quality on diverse construction projects.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of construction management experience.
  • Understanding of construction procedures and project management.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, scheduling, supervising and coordinating projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Assist with negotiating and managing contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Help determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, materials) from start to finish.
  • Organize, file and maintain project documents.
  • Support health and safety compliance and positive stakeholder relationships.

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is looking for Assistant Project Manager to work on various projects in the Richmond/Williamsburg/Hampton areas.

Requirements
  • Works directly with the Project Manager to help implement project goals
  • 3 - 5 Years of construction management experience
  • Understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficient with computers and corresponding programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening
Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, supervising and coordinating all aspects of a wide range of construction projects to ensure that deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Assist with negotiation and management of contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Assist the Project Manager with determining needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to schedule and budget details.
  • Organize, file and maintain project documents.
  • Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customer and co-workers.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis in order to be considered.

For this role the base salary range is $80,000-115,000. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
