Job summary

Flowtec Construction seeks an ambitious Assistant Project Manager to join its design-build team in Chicago. You will work with experienced PMs, superintendents, estimators and designers across healthcare, corporate interiors, multifamily, education, commercial, and hospitality sectors.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of construction experience with a General Contractor.
• Experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer is preferred.
• Exposure to ground-up construction or complex renovation projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support projects from preconstruction through final completion.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents on daily project operations.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentation.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
• Participate in project meetings and help track action items.
• Assist with budgeting, cost reporting, forecasting and procurement.
• Review drawings and specifications for scope and constructability.
• Help prepare subcontractor scopes, bid packages and contract documentation.
• Track schedules, material deliveries and project milestones.
• Support quality control, safety and project closeout activities.
• Develop relationships with clients, consultants and trade partners.
• Take ownership of increasingly complex project responsibilities.
• Gain exposure to design, estimating, preconstruction and field operations.

The Opportunity

Flowtec is partnered with a leading $400M Chicago General Contractor seeking an ambitious Assistant Project Manager to join its growing design-build team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants more than administrative responsibility. You will work alongside experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, estimators and design professionals while gaining meaningful involvement throughout the entire project lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

• One to four years of construction experience with a General Contractor
• Experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer is preferred
• Exposure to ground-up construction or complex renovation projects
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
• Desire to learn and progress into a Project Manager position
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project or similar platforms is beneficial
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field is preferred
