Job Description

As a Assistant Project Manager, you will support Project Managers and manage smaller projects, overseeing project performance including cost, schedule, quality, and status. Responsibilities include managing project phases, coordinating tasks, budgets, and stakeholders, and following project management best practices. You will also handle subcontractor negotiations and liaise with owners, engineers, and sub-trades, managing technical and financial aspects of contracts. Ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and compliant with policies, legislation, and labor requirements is essential.

Key Job Functions

  • Oversee recurring repairs and participate in capital improvement projects for the facility.
  • Prepare vendor contracts to ensure high-quality, cost-effective services.
  • Understand budgets, variances, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage operations and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, energy management, fire suppression, life safety, and other systems.
  • Supervise service requests, record-keeping, and administrative functions.
  • Manage systems such as vehicle barriers, dock levelers, elevators, and roof systems.
  • Perform minor structural and architectural repairs.
  • Manage janitorial, grounds maintenance, pest control, and energy systems services.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing facilities of at least 800k sq ft with similar complexity.
  • Five (5) years of recent experience in facilities management, supervision, and janitorial services.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Skills in managing complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to perform quality control inspections and provide routine status reports.
