Your Role and Impact
As An Assistant Project Manager At VMG, You Will
- Support Project Execution: Assist in planning and executing mechanical construction projects, ensuring adherence to high standards of quality and safety.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to meet project timelines and goals.
- Interpret Technical Documents: Review and comprehend mechanical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Coordinate Project Logistics: Oversee scheduling, material procurement, and site logistics to ensure seamless project flow.
- Monitor Progress: Track project progress and promptly report any issues or delays to the project manager.
- Maintain Records: Ensure that all project records and documentation are accurate and comply with company and industry standards.
- On-Site Support: Travel to project sites across the DMV area (30-40% travel) to assist with on-site management and coordination.
What You Bring
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Project Coordinator or in a Construction administrative role in the Mechanical or Plumbing trade.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with HVAC service and installation methods, equipment, and tools.
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required; additional education in construction management or a related field is a plus.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build positive relationships. Familiarity with mechanical drawings and commercial construction projects.
- Tech Savvy: Basic proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel; experience with industry software like ProCore, Bluebeam, Revit, and AutoCAD is a plus.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage job deadlines, with strong organizational and time management skills.
