Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Manager in coordinating the fabrication and erection of structural steel, deck, and related components.

You will work closely with the project team to translate blueprints and specifications into actionable procurement and scheduling steps, ensuring on-time delivery and quality control. Ideal candidates bring experience in steel construction, strong proficiency with MS Office, and a drive to manage subcontractors

Qualifications

• Prior Project Management experience in steel fabrication/erection preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; scheduling software preferred (MS Project, Primavera).
• Knowledge of safety, quality, and cost control standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate fabricating and erecting structural steel, miscellaneous metals, joist, and metal deck for projects.
• Read specs and blueprints to determine locations, quantities and sizes of materials.
• Create and establish schedules including preconstruction planning, submittals, engineering, shop drawings, procurement, fabrication, shipping, erection and closeout.
• Prepare, coordinate, review and execute submittals, contracts, blueprints/drawings, and other documents.
• Communicate with other project contractors to maintain schedule and material delivery; mitigate design conflicts.
• Coordinate with the BIM process and clash detection.
• Organize and maintain important documents in hard copy and electronic formats.

Your day TO DAY

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for providing construction management including administrative and technical support to the Project Manager.

• Working with Project Manager to coordinate the overall process of fabricating and erecting structural steel, miscellaneous metals, joist, and metal deck for assigned projects
• Read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required
• Create and establish schedules that include preconstruction planning, submittals, engineering, shop drawing creation, material procurement, and fabrication, shipping, erection, and closeout procedures.
• Prepare, coordinate, review, and execute submittals, contracts, blueprints/drawings, and other critical documents
• Communicate and coordinate with other project contractors to maintain schedule, deliver of materials, and mitigate design conflicts
• Communicate and coordinate the steel package with other trade contractors via the BIM process and work through clash detection
• Effectively organize and maintain important documents in both a hard copy and electronic format

Does this sound like you?

• Prior Project Management experience particularly in steel fabrication/erection strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera) preferred
• Valid US driver's license is required
• Knowledge of Tekla, Trimble Connect software programs is a plus
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in steel construction
• Knowledge of safety, quality, and cost control standards and procedures
• Ability to understand and apply varying levels of mathematics relevant to the position
