The Build Partners, LLC is seeking an organized Assistant Project Manager – Structural Concrete to support our Project Managers and Superintendents on commercial and multi-family projects in North Carolina.
This role focuses on coordinating planning, scheduling, procurement, quality control, safety, and progress reporting, with opportunity to grow into a leadership position within a fast-paced, collaborative team.

They are seeking an organized, driven Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Managers and Superintendents while developing into a leadership role within our growing organization.

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a key role in the successful planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of structural concrete construction projects. Working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent, the APM supports every phase of the project lifecycle, from preconstruction planning through project completion, while helping ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
This position is ideal for a construction professional with experience in structural concrete who is looking to grow their project management career in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Assist Project Managers with project planning, sequencing, manpower, equipment, and scheduling.
Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure a complete understanding of project scope.
Participate in project startup planning and preconstruction meetings.
Assist with project staffing coordination and operational startup.
Help maintain detailed critical path schedules throughout the project.
Coordinate Architectural, Structural, and Civil drawings.
Review constructability with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
Prepare, submit, and track Requests for Information (RFIs) through Procore.
Review project specifications and submit required materials for approval.
Review and submit rebar, post-tension, and formwork shop drawings.
Maintain current drawings within Procore and office trailers.
Develop shop drawings when required.
Collect and distribute three-week look-ahead schedules.
Prepare stressing logs and review stressing results.
Coordinate formwork stripping letters.
Support quality control documentation and project closeout activities.
Collect and compile field change directives.
Price change requests and assist with change order documentation.
Review field timesheets and labor coding.
Process purchase orders and code labor and material costs using company software.
Upload delivery tickets and maintain the company project cost records.
Submit daily reports and project logs through Procore.
Compile concrete testing and break reports.
Verify deliveries against bills of lading and report discrepancies immediately.
Collect daily production quantities and labor hours.
Communicate project needs with the Project Management team.
Support Superintendents with daily reporting.
Prepare accident reports and required safety documentation.
Assist with project-specific safety plans, operator certifications, OSHA documentation, quality control plans, and project records.
Assist with scheduling material and equipment deliveries.
Coordinate with the Yard Manager regarding equipment procurement and tracking.
Prepare bills of lading for equipment transfers and rentals.
Help ensure equipment and materials are available to support project schedules.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Science, or a related field, or equivalent construction experience.
2 years of project management experience in commercial or multi-family construction.
2 years of structural concrete experience, including one or more of the following:
Tilt-Up Construction
Foundations
Working knowledge of:
Contractor and vendor management
Contract administration
Scope management
Material and equipment procurement
OSHA safety requirements
Quality Control (QC)
Scheduling
Change Orders
RFIs
Daily field reporting
Project closeout
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency with:
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Excel
Adobe Acrobat
Procore
PlanGrid
AutoCAD
Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software
Experience working for a structural concrete subcontractor.
Knowledge of project cost tracking and budget management.
Experience reading and interpreting structural construction drawings.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.
