Job summary

Convergint Technologies, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team in a full-time role. You will assist the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, organizing, and directing projects, including application engineering, to ensure on-time, in-budget delivery.

The role demands basic project management experience, developing financial skills, and leadership orientation, with proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred Experience: 3-5 years engineering, field service or project management.
  • Experience in electronics, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, or healthcare.
  • Prior supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, organizing and directing, and application engineering for assigned projects.
  • Ensure projects are executed to budgeted cost and time schedules.
  • Ensure positive cash flow on all assigned projects.
  • Act as key interface with the customer and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Identify potential project risks and assist to develop/implement strategies to minimize impact and develop and implement strategies for controlling deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
  • Utilize financial systems to review actual vs. estimated job cost and to provide timely and accurate project cost reports.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

  • Strong Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.

Experience
  • Engineering Experience is preferred but not required. (preferred)
  • Prior experience leading or supervising teams (preferred)
  • Background in at least one of the following sectors: electronics, fire alarm and life safety, building automation, or healthcare
  • (preferred)
  • 3 - 5 years: 3-5 years in Project Management Administration or Field Service. (preferred)
