The role requires 1+ year of construction coordination, strong communication, and negotiation skills, plus an OSHA 10 or ability to obtain. This is a salaried, exempt position based in Wisconsin.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level degree in construction management, building science, engineering or equivalent.
  • OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • 1 year of proven work experience coordinating projects in a construction setting.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, contracts, permitting and scheduling.
  • Strong time management and multi-project coordination abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the staff required to produce a complete bid, budget, negotiate contracts, contract all sub-contractors required, schedule and manage the project.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*** Work with acquisitions, engineers, and architect on project plans* Send project to bid, select contractors, negotiate bid price if required, send out contracts and generate final budget* Explain contract, specification, and technical information in a clear concise manner* Develop a construction schedule, with project deliverables, and milestones* Keep within budget constraints using professional negotiation techniques to ensure budget adherence* Ensure all work is carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines, and regulations* Support Project Managers with construction project progress and provide reports on timeline, progress, and adjustments* Obtain building permits, licenses, and meet code regulations* Manage material inventory and equipment* Able to build solid relationships with team members, vendors, and customers* Other duties as assigned## Qualifications**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE***REQUIRED:** Construction management, building science, engineering degree or equivalent experience is required* Must have valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from the job site to conduct regular site checks of work progress and ensure proper safety standards are being met* OSHA 10 certification or the ability to obtain one in 90 days* Advanced in Microsoft Office applications and project management software* 1 years proven work experience as a project coordinator with technical field knowledge, project management; administrative and construction processes* Overall working knowledge of construction processes to identify issues as well as be able to develop resolution of the issues.* Working knowledge of the construction contracts, permitting and project scheduling* Ability to manage time effectively to manage multiple projects concurrently* Outstanding communication and negotiation skills*PREFERRED:** 2-3+ years’ field experience in residential or commercial construction field* Actively pursuing continuing education or certification in Project Management once eligible**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*** Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.* Ability to sit at a computer desk for long periods of time* Clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone**SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:**This position requires the ability to work 40 – 45 hours per week during normal business hours of Monday – Friday, with occasional hours outside out of that range as business necessitates. Site visits and occasional travel required with this position Incumbent must have good organizational skills, be self-motivated, possess good time management skills and can communicate with people on all levels.**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**Most of this position is in a professional corporate office setting dealing with our Pre-Development Department, Architect, Executive Management, Ownership, and customers.
