Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a mission-critical electrical group on a Kansas City metro jobsite. This site-based PM role will help run electrical scope on large commercial and data center builds, partnering with senior PMs and field leadership.

Ideal candidates have electrical construction PM experience and are eager to move into mission-critical/data center space with a well-resourced contractor. Growth into full PM is realistic, with local travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction, electrical engineering, or business.
• 5+ years electrical construction field/trade experience or training.
• Minimum 1 year electrical construction PM experience on large projects overseeing electrical work.
• Mission-critical/data center construction experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Outlook).
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR; pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical construction project management on large commercial and mission-critical projects.
• Help manage project coordination, scheduling, and construction execution.
• Track project accounting and profitability against budget.
• Support field staff, subcontractor performance, and vendor compliance.
• Ensure work conforms to contract documents, budget, safety, and legal/statutory requirements.
• Maintain clear communication across clients, vendors, subs, inspectors, and internal staff.
• Deliver projects on schedule and on budget.

A national specialty construction contractor is adding an Assistant Project Manager to its electrical mission-critical group for a jobsite in the Kansas City metro. This is a site-based project management role — you'll help run the electrical scope on large commercial and data center builds, working alongside senior project managers and field leadership. It's a strong seat for someone with electrical construction PM experience who wants into the mission-critical / data center space with an established, well-resourced contractor. Growth path into full project management is real here.

• Anticipated $110K-$130K, based on experience
• Travel package applies if you are not local to the assigned jobsite (GSA Per Diem rates);package includes travel home about twice a month

Preferred Skills / Experience

• Education — one of the following:
• > Bachelor's degree in construction, electrical engineering, or business
• > 5+ years of electrical construction field/trade experience or training
• > Equivalent combination of education and field experience
• Minimum 1 year of electrical construction project management experience on large projects, directly overseeing electrical construction work
• Mission-critical / data center construction experience strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook)
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR; must pass background check and drug screen
