MV Transportation in Irvine, CA seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support and lead operating personnel in delivering the division's business plan in a fast-paced transit environment. The role requires 5+ years of management in public transportation, ADA/complementary paratransit knowledge, and strong leadership and analytical skills.

The position reports to operations leadership and will manage budgets and compliance with FTA policies. Starting salary range: $100,033-$135,339.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible management in public transportation operations or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years managing ADA complementary paratransit or demand-response services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ADA paratransit requirements, applicable FTA regulations, and demand-response management.
  • Certified Community Transit Manager (CCTM) certification or Transit/Paratransit management certificate, or equivalent.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.

  • Manages the Operations Department annual budget.
  • Assumes Project Manager duties during absence.
  • Maintains knowledge of ADA, FTA requirements, and client policies.”
  • Provides leadership to CONTRACTOR personnel and subcontractors for safe, reliable service.
  • Assists in responding to service disruptions and emergencies.
  • Maintains communication with client and CONTRACTOR on issues affecting service.
  • Attends meetings, presentations and client events.
  • Available during business hours and for emergencies via approved methods.

Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for proposed business to provide support, leadership and direction to assigned operating personnel to ensure delivery of the division business plan in our fast-paced transit business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures performance indicators meet or exceed client and corporate expectations.
  • Ensures division goals and objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Ensures subordinate staff are well trained and being successful.
  • Ensures all company policies and procedures are in place and being followed.
  • Ensures the company vision, values and culture are understood, communicated and promoted throughout operations.
  • Ensures liquidated damages are kept to a minimum and failures are corrected.
  • Develop and maintain a positive employee and labor relations.
  • Directly oversees operations department managers.
  • Trains and mentors a future successor for backfill.
  • Successfully manages the Operations Department annual budget.
  • Assumes responsibility of the Project Manager during his/her absence.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the ADA, applicable FTA requirements, and all client policies, procedures, and operating requirements applicable to the services provided under this Agreement.
  • Provide leadership and direction to CONTRACTOR personnel and subcontractors to ensure safe, reliable, efficient, and rider-focused service delivery.
  • Assist in responding to and managing significant service disruptions, emergencies, and other critical operational events.
  • Maintain regular communication with client and CONTRACTOR management regarding operational issues, service quality, and other matters affecting the delivery of service.
  • Attend meetings, presentations, and other events as requested by client.
  • Be available during normal business hours and remain reachable outside normal business hours for emergencies through client-approved communication methods.
Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible management and supervisory experience in public transportation operations or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of management experience overseeing ADA complementary paratransit service or comparable demand-response transportation services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ADA complementary paratransit requirements, applicable FTA regulations, and the management of demand-response transportation services.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess a Certified Community Transit Manager (CCTM) certification issued by the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) and have successfully completed the Transit and Paratransit Management Certificate Program, or equivalent professional certifications and training acceptable to client.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Certifications according to local contract as required.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Experience in development of runs, shift bids and run cuts.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills including written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Strong supervision skills with ability to lead others to success.
  • Ability to develop solutions to challenge through planning and implementation.
  • Ability to write and speak English.

Starting salary range: $100,033-$135,339
