Job summary

Transtech Energy is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Indianapolis to support the project management team through scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and closeout activities.

You will work closely with field foremen and subcontractors to ensure timely, safe, and compliant project execution and reporting. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in project coordination or field experience in construction projects.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with other team members, subcontractors, and customers with minimal oversight.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with ASME B31.3/31.1 welding procedures and industry guidelines.
  • Experience in construction projects related to the Air Separation, Gas Processing, or Energy industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to support after-hours field team needs when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Project Management: Support the Project Manager in scope definition, proposal preparation, and project execution.
  • Coordinate and Track Progress: Monitor schedules, budgets, labor hours, and quality standards; address issues with team members.
  • Support Field Operations: Plan, assign, and monitor field crews to meet timelines and standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare regular project status updates and track invoices, change orders, etc.
  • Resource Coordination: Source and manage materials and subcontractors as needed.
  • Safety and Quality: Uphold safety practices and quality standards on site.
  • Project Completion and Closeout: Verify completion and prepare turnover packages for closeout.
  • Customer and Vendor Communication: Communicate with subcontractors, customers, and vendors to meet expectations.
  • Financial Support: Assist the finance team with invoicing and change orders.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Project Management: Support the Project Manager in the execution of project deliverables, including scope definition, proposal preparation, and project execution.
  • Coordinate and Track Progress: Assist with monitoring and managing the progress of projects, including schedules, budgets, labor hours, and quality standards. Help identify issues and collaborate with team members to address them.
  • Support Field Operations: Work closely with Foremen/Superintendents to plan, assign, and monitor work responsibilities for field crews. Ensure that all tasks are completed according to project timelines and standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Assist in preparing regular project status updates for senior management. Help track project documentation, including invoices, change orders, etc.
  • Resource Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams to assist in sourcing and managing materials and subcontractors as required for projects.
  • Safety and Quality Standards: Uphold and promote safety practices and the company’s quality standards in all aspects of project work. Assist in ensuring that safety protocols are followed on-site.
  • Project Completion and Closeout: Assist in verifying the completion and completing the project turnover package. Ensure that all documentation is complete for project closeout.
  • Customer and Vendor Communication: Assist in communication with subcontractors, customers, and vendors. Ensure that project expectations are met, and assist in resolving any issues that arise.
  • Financial Support: Assist the finance team with invoicing, processing change orders, and managing any collections issues.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional project-related tasks as needed to support the Project Manager and the broader project team.
Required Qualifications:
