Job summary

Accelevation LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale data center construction in a Phoenix-based onsite role. You will shadow senior project managers, coordinate resources, manage scope, schedule, and cost, and assist with client interactions and bid activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Center build outs or equivalent experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience supporting construction projects.
  • Knowledge of construction project controls, cost tracking, scheduling and change management.
  • Experience with subcontractor and supplier contract administration.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contracts.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, and project documentation in a PMIS.
  • Strong communication, organizational and reporting skills.
  • Commitment to safety management practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; construction software and BIM experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Willing to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow experienced Project Managers to learn workflows, protocols and stakeholder interactions.
  • Participate in training on data center infrastructure and operations.
  • Learn processes and manage scope over portions of projects including quality and standards.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to stay within scope, schedule and budget.
  • Gather required project documentation and support quality control processes.
  • Assist with client-facing interactions and cost control functions.
  • Maintain and update construction schedules and lead project meetings.
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports and serve as owner/client interface.
  • Assist with bid package development and support change order negotiations.
  • Promote and practice safety management and manage subcontractor contract administration.
  • Support owner contract administration, track RFIs and submittals, monitor trade progress.
  • Set up and maintain projects in the PMIS and support BIM model coordination.
  • Manage closeout processes and travel up to 20% for site meetings.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting large‑scale data center construction projects—coordinating workflows, ensuring quality, and enabling on‑time, on‑budget delivery. Your support helps ensure operational excellence and exceptional client experience across all project phases.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Experience
  • Experience with Data Center Operations (Infrastructure, Low Voltage, or Electrical)

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment including laptops, keyboards, monitors, and phones.
