Job summary

D&L Electric in Georgia is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to oversee multi-site electrical projects from bid through closeout. You will drive safety, coordinate proposals, manage budgets, read blueprints, and ensure code compliance. Travel to different states is expected and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of project management experience in heavy industrial or commercial settings.
• Ability to travel to different states.
• Valid government-issued Driver’s License.
• Proof of Work Authorization.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Accubid estimating software experience preferred.
• Experience in MSAs and contracts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive project safety culture and attend site safety meetings.
• Estimate material, personnel, and time requirements.
• Coordinate proposals, budgets, scheduling, staffing, and purchasing.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and P&ID drawings to plan installation procedures.
• Draft change orders and order materials.

Georgia-based D&L Electric is a professional electrical contractor with nearly 20 years of experience installing and servicing all types of electrical systems required for commercial and Industrial facilities as well as new construction. D&L Electric's team of seasoned professionals are committed to offering the most reliable services and systems to meet client needs from commercial lighting and new construction, to power distribution systems, tenant build outs, general electrical installations and more. We are looking for a best in class Assistant Project Manager willing to roll up their sleeves and exude a passion for the field.

What you will do…

• Drive D&L Electric Safety Culture. Hold project teams accountable for following safety policy. Attend Site Safety Meetings as needed.
• Estimate material, personnel, and time requirements to complete projects.
• Coordinate all aspects of project proposals including timely proposal submissions, budgets, scheduling, staffing, and material purchasing.
• Examine work orders to determine appropriate course of action.
• Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures.
• Perform take-offs.
• Draft change orders.
• Order material/parts.
• Request personnel for ongoing and future projects.
• Coordinate multiple projects on a continuing basis.
• Provide start to finish support and follow-up to customers and the project foreman to ensure company quality and performance standards are reached.
• Work with project foreman to develop goals and a plan to complete projects.
• Ensure that work is performed according to appropriate codes/guidelines.
• Communicate with supervisors, peers, subordinates, or customers to provide/receive information by telephone, two-way radio, in written form, in person or by email.
• Use computer systems to enter, access or retrieve data.
• Work closely with the Accounting Department to ensure accurate billing is conducted.
• Request and be present for municipality inspections.
• Complete appropriate forms, reports, and other required paperwork.
• Develop new business initiatives.
• Attend staff and sales meetings.

What you will need to succeed…

• Technical knowledge within industrial automation systems and overall plant processes.
• Ability to execute design / build projects in an industrial environment
• Read/comprehend blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, work orders, instructions, formulas, and P&ID’s
• 3 years project management experience in the oil & gas, chemical, corn refining sectors or other heavy industrial or commercial settings.
• Experience in turnarounds/shutdowns.
• Ability to plan/organize work and interpret/communicate technical information.
• Able to execute and deliver results on multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Valid government-issued Driver’s License.
• Proof of Work Authorization.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Be willing to travel to different states.
• Accubid estimating software experience preferred
• Experience in MSA’s and contracts preferred.
