Job summary

WDS Construction, Inc. is seeking an ambitious Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support commercial construction projects nationwide. This entry‑ to early‑career role offers hands‑on experience alongside seasoned project managers, superintendents, and industry leaders.

You will assist with submittals, RFIs, change orders, procurements, and scheduling, while developing the skills to advance into a Project Manager role. Expect training, mentorship, and career development at WDS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents through all phases of construction.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Assist with bid coordination, scope development, and purchase orders.
  • Help maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking.
  • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and closeout activities.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and project teams.

At WDS Construction, we’re looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to help deliver exceptional commercial construction projects across the country. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals who are eager to gain hands‑on experience and learn from experienced project managers, superintendents and industry leaders.

As an APM, you’ll play a key role in supporting projects from preconstruction through closeout while developing the skills and experience needed to grow into a Project Manager role. What You’ll Do
  • Support Project Managers & Superintendents throughout all phases of construction
  • Review and process submittals, RFIs, change orders & project documentation
  • Assist with bid coordination, scope development & purchase orders
  • Help maintain project schedules, budgets & cost tracking
  • Participate in project meetings, site visits & project closeout activities
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, clients & project teams
  • Support safety initiatives & quality control efforts
  • Travel to project sites as needed to gain valuable field experience
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field preferred
  • Strong organizational skills & attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks & thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office & construction management software such as Procore
  • A collaborative mindset & willingness to learn
