Job summary

Barringer Construction in Asheville, NC seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support the team, coordinate budgets and schedules, and maintain strong vendor and client relationships.

You will assist the Superintendent, manage RFIs, submittals, drawings, and punch lists, take meeting minutes, and help close out documents at project completion. This role blends office work with site activity and offers growth in a 100% ESOP-owned, award-winning company.

Qualifications

• 4 year college degree in a construction related field and/or 3+ years of experience in construction management.
• Familiar with RFI process and coordinating with project teams to resolve RFIs.
• Ability to review and process submittals and manage drawings with latest updates.
• Experience generating meeting minutes and tracking inspections and permit close-out.
• ProCore experience and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project team with strategic planning, budgets, and schedules.
• Maintain positive vendor and client relationships throughout the project.
• Assist Superintendent to resolve field and inspection issues.
• Generate meeting minutes for Owner and Subcontractor meetings.
• Track inspections and permit close-out; manage punch list and close-out docs.
• Collaborate on documenting and organizing project drawings and updates.

We're looking foran Assistant Project Manager to support the team and help facilitate the construction process. You will participate in strategic planning, maintenance of the project budget, coordination and management of the overall project schedule, while maintaining positive vendor and client relationships.

Qualifications:

• Familiar with RFI process and working with project team to write and resolve RFIs
• Ability to review and process submittals
• Generate and manage material procurement logs
• Organize and manage drawings and ensure project team is working with the latest updates
• Assist Superintendent to resolve field and inspection issues
• Generate meeting minutes for Owner and Subcontractor regular meetings
• Work with Superintendent to track inspections and permit close out
• Manage and document punch list
• Manage and compile all close out documents at project completion for turnover to Owner
• Experience with ProCore

Education and/or Experience:

4 year college degree in a construction related field and/or 3+ years of experience in construction management.

• Split between office and active jobsite settings, with varying conditions including changes in elevation, temperature fluctuations, and occasional dust or noise.
• Ability to move around construction sites safely and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Some travel between projects and offices across our market; occasional early mornings or late days as project milestones require.
