Job summary

Granger Construction invites you to join as a Field-based Assistant Project Engineer Intern. You'll work with project managers and field teams on documentation, scheduling, and daily coordination at Ohio project sites.

This paid internship offers hands-on experience, exposure to RFIs, submittals, safety observations, and collaboration with subcontractors. You'll review drawings, track progress, and participate in on-site meetings to develop real-world skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in building construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with the capability to lead by example.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and a self-starter mentality.
• Ability to meet deadlines and balance big-picture with details.
• Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new software.
• Must be able to work full-time.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and field teams by assisting in project documentation, scheduling, and coordination of daily activities.
• Review project drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project goals and compliance with industry standards.
• Track and document project progress, including daily logs, material deliveries, and work completed.
• Participate in on-site meetings to gain exposure to real-time problem-solving and decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of RFIs (Requests for Information) and submittals to ensure project milestones are met.
• Contribute to maintaining project safety standards by observing and reporting on-site conditions.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers, supporting procurement and logistics activities.
