Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of fund accounting experience.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with superior analytical skills, and computer literacy in Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Staff Accountants in administering Agency Fund accounts and related budgets.
  • Set up, maintain and update all project information and records.
  • Review project budgets, encumbrances and expenses, including contractor agreements and requisitions.
  • Verify authorizing signatures and funding availability; process transactions per project standards.
  • Enter transactions and journal entries into the accounting system; maintain related records.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and reconciliations.
  • Communicate with Project Directors and RFCUNY departments with clear written correspondence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The incumbent will assist the Assistant Controller and Senior Staff Accountants in administering Agency Fund accounts, including setting up, maintaining and updating project information and records/reports; reviewing project budgets, encumbrances and expenses; and verifying authorizing signatures and availability of funding, and assisting with financial reporting and account reconciliation.**RESPONSIBILITIES:**• Assist Senior Staff Accountants in administering Agency Fund accounts, including the Recovery, Recovery Derived and Central Allocation Budget accounts.• Set up, maintain and update all project information.• Review project budgets, encumbrances and expenses, including independent contractor agreements, Requisitions, Expense Reports, Supplier Invoice Requests, Supplier Invoices, Job Requisitions and Data Changes.• Verify authorizing signatures and the availability of funding; and review and process transactions according to project standards and guidelines.• Review and enter transactions, including journal entries into the accounting system.• Maintain records and reports that track RFCUNY and College advances and guarantees to sponsored projects.• Communicate effectively with and prepare written correspondence to Project Directors and to other RFCUNY departments, providing exceptional customer service.• Assist Senior Staff Accountants in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.• Perform other duties as assigned. **QUALIFICATIONS:**• BS degree required with at least fifteen (15) credits in accounting.• At least two (2) years of fund accounting experience• Superior verbal and written communication skills• Detail-oriented with superior analytical skills, and computer literacy in Excel• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Pay Range:$71,518.76 - $83,329.20**RFCUNY Benefits** RFCUNY Employee Benefits and Accruals (link to https://www.rfcuny.org/RFWebsite)
