ABCD is seeking an Assistant Program Manager for MassHire Career Centers in Roxbury to support career services, case management and job readiness programs. This role focuses on staff development, program compliance, and partner relations to ensure efficient client service.

The position requires a combination of education and significant experience in customer service or related fields, with a commitment to assisting low-income individuals.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required and five years of customer service or relevant experience.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in human services, public administration, business management or related field preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated innovative, enthusiastic, problem solving aptitude.
  • Ability to motivate, and support staff.
  • Commitment to assisting low income and disadvantaged individuals in overcoming barriers to achievement.
  • Flexibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to deal sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Career Center Program Manager by coordinating with staff to ensure career services, case management, and job readiness services follow policies.
  • Implements training materials for use at the career center.
  • Implements quality control procedures at the career center.
  • Collaborates with center partners to ensure seamless customer flow and efficiencies.
  • Implements MOUs and deliverables with partners for client benefit.
  • Tracks performance and results and reviews with staff to meet outcomes and benchmarks.
  • Supports staff development and ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Ensures program compliance with contracts, benchmarks, and system integration.
  • Recommends continuous improvement methodologies to the Program Manager.
  • Oversees staff compliance including case notes, documentation, eligibility and follow-up.
  • Evaluates staff performance and recommends actions as needed.
  • Acts as liaison to partners, employers, training programs and customers as directed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists the Career Center Program Manager by working with career center staff to ensure that career services, case management, and job readiness and placement services are carried out consistent with policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the implementation of training materials for use at the career center.
  • Ensures the implementation of quality control procedures at the career center.
  • Works with career center partners to ensure seamless customer flow and efficiencies.
  • Implements career center partner Memorandum of Understanding and deliverables for the benefit of career center clients.
  • Tracks performance and deliverables of the career center and reviews results with staff assigned to the center to ensure program outcomes and benchmarks are obtained.
  • Works with the Career Center Program Manager to ensure the delivery of staff development efforts and continuing professional development initiatives.
  • Works with the Career Center Program Manager to ensure program compliance aligns with contractual requirements for benchmarks and system integration.
  • Recommends to the Career Center Program Manager methodologies for continuous improvement.
  • Works with the Career Center Program Manager to ensure staff compliance including case notes, documentation, eligibility and follow-up.
  • Evaluate career center staff performance, prepare performance evaluations, and recommend disciplinary action to the Career Center Program Manager.
  • At the direction of the Career Center Program Manager, serves as a liaison to partners, prospective employers, training programs and the customers.
  • Responsible for own work and the supervision of personnel, including but not limited to assign and allocate workflow, staff training, development, conduct reviews and performance improvement plans.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Minimum of High School Diploma, or equivalent and five years of customer service or relevant experience is required.
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in human services, public administration, business management or related field and experience working in a career center or other related experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated innovative, enthusiastic, problem solving aptitude.
  • Ability to motivate, and support staff.
  • Commitment to assisting low income and disadvantaged individuals in overcoming barriers to achievement and success in their personal and work lives.
  • Flexibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team required.
  • Ability to deal sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.

Expected Salary: $ $62,189.40 annually ($34.93/hour) USD. Salary scales are set according to an explicit compensation policy and relevant market data. Due to funding restrictions and our strong focus on internal parity, this salary is thoughtfully aligned with the duties expected for this role, and offers are firm.
