Job summary

University of Northwestern – St. Paul (KCVO Spirit FM) seeks an Assistant Program Director/On‑Air Host to support programming and serve as a key voice on-air.

Responsibilities include music scheduling, production, and coaching staff while hosting engaging segments aligned with the station’s mission. The role requires strong technical, organizational, and communication skills, with a heart for ministry, community engagement, and occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent and broadcasting experience.
• Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and uphold Northwestern’s mission.
• On‑Air radio experience with show preparation and audience engagement.

Responsibilities

• Schedule music, coordinate with labels, assist with weekly music selection.
• Ensure FCC compliance, including EAS testing and Online Public File maintenance, and underwriting review.
• Develop station imaging, promos, and production elements; oversee audio production and liners.
• Coach air staff through sessions, provide feedback and direction with Program Director.
• Host weekday and weekend shifts, prep shows, conduct interviews, and manage on-air segments.
• Operate studio equipment, control boards, and transmitters; log and comply with FCC regulations.
• Engage listeners via social media, events, and outreach; attend concerts and churches.
• Interview artists/authors; support related audio projects and podcasts.
