Position Type: This is a full-time, exempt position with a regular daytime schedule that may include an evening shift and rotating on-call responsibilities with the Program Director. Lantern staff may be asked to change work schedule and hours depending on the operational needs of the site and the agency.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
Objective: We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Assistant Program Director (APD) who will partner with the Program Director in the overall management of the program. The APD must have experience in mental health service delivery, working with formerly homeless individuals, and/or clients impacted by chronic medical conditions, substance use, and criminal justice involvement. The candidate should have strong supervisory and administrative skills, and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to ensure quality services and program operations. Attention to detail, a thorough understanding of relevant service delivery concepts, mastery in navigating mental health systems, and the ability to access comprehensive services for recipients are essential.
The Assistant Program Director is responsible for direct supervision of the case management team and plays a key role in ensuring clients receive services that meet regulatory and agency standards by leveraging supervision, reporting instruments, and chart reviews. The APD helps develop a high-functioning team, promotes a culture of learning, professional development, and quality improvement, and actively fosters diversity, equity, belonging, inclusion, and justice within the program culture.
Essential Functions include providing clinical supervision, promoting professional development, reviewing documentation, conducting chart reviews, tracking outcomes, participating in client assessments, developing treatment and safety plans, facilitating referrals, managing reporting requirements, supporting staff engagement, developing programming, collaborating on housing stability, assisting in hiring and training, participating in meetings, supporting crisis response, managing incident reports, and day-to-day program management.
Required Education And Experience include an MSW or MHC from an accredited school (license required within one year), at least one year of supervisory experience in social services, a minimum of three years post-Master’s experience, strong clinical and interpersonal skills, experience with harm reduction, database utilization, and values of diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Experience includes knowledge of HIV/AIDS, mental health, substance use, working with supported populations, and experience with evidence-based models like Motivational Interviewing.
Work Environment: Supports a population experiencing mental illness, addiction, disability, HIV, and other chronic illnesses in a housing site.
Physical Demands: Includes standing, walking, sitting, stooping, climbing stairs, using hands, talking, hearing, and occasional lifting up to 5 pounds.
