This position supervises daily pool activities and is responsible for proactively communicating and maintaining a safe pool atmosphere while preventing accidents. The purpose of this position is to provide a positive role model for members as well as fellow aquatic staff and to create a character-developing atmosphere. In addition to lifeguard and swim lesson duties, this position assists the aquatic director with scheduling, hiring, training, and supervising all staff.
Successful performance in this position results in vibrant and safe programs and services that utilized to deliver the YMCA mission. Participants will encounter staff and programs that will allow the development of human potential and build good health and promote positive self-esteem and safety. Behaviors of staff and volunteers will reflect the characteristics of welcoming, nurturing, genuine, determined, and hopeful.
