Job Description

A new initiative within the Institute for Advanced Jesuit Studies, the AMDG program draws from the Jesuit tradition and its extensive national and global networks to energize the religious practices of 625 youth and young adults. The program also offers mentorship development for 25 adults serving as Ambassadors, and up to 50 undergraduates as Beadles. Funded by the Lilly Endowment, the pilot includes 15 Jesuit high schools, five colleges/universities, and five parishes.

The Assistant Program Director, AMDG supports the Program Director in implementing this initiative rooted in the Jesuit tradition, focusing on energizing Catholic faith practices among youth and young adults. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Create a marketing plan with the Program Director, including:
  • Recruitment of institutions, Ambassadors, and participants
  • Pre- and post-program marketing activities
  • Ongoing communication with participants during the program
  • Coordinate logistics for retreats and pilgrimages
  • Assist in implementing assessment strategies to evaluate program effectiveness
  • Manage budget and financial operations in collaboration with the Associate Director, including reporting to the Lilly Endowment
  • Oversee logistics of Ambassador participation in the Institute’s Certificate in Jesuit Studies
  • Maintain a strong understanding and awareness of the Jesuit Catholic mission

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required; a graduate degree in theology, education, or administration is preferred
    • Experience in an educational environment preferred
    • Event and/or program management experience required
    • At least 2 years of professional experience, preferably in education or related fields
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
    • Detail-oriented, problem-solving skills, creativity
    • Ability to work effectively independently and in teams
    • Ability to work with diverse groups
    • Demonstrated leadership skills
    • Knowledge of Boston College’s Jesuit Catholic mission
    • Entrepreneurial spirit
    • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed during program activities
