I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The Graduate School of Education and Human Development ( GSEHD ) at the George Washington University in Washington, DC is dedicated to the mission of leading innovation through learning. Our students emerge from our programs enriched in theory and practice and become agents of change in education, counseling, and organizational leadership.

Reporting to the Academic Dean and Associate Dean for Research & External Relations, the Assistant Program Director, Accreditation and Partnerships will be the strategic and operational lead for both accreditation and partnership efforts within GSEHD . The incumbent ensures compliance with national accreditation standards while simultaneously developing and managing cross institutional partnerships that enhance academic programming and research opportunities. The role requires cross-functional collaboration, discretion, and a high level of flexibility and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Accreditation, Assessment, and Continuous Improvement
Critical Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Develop and manage strategic accreditation plans across programs ( CAEP , CACREP , Middle States, etc.), ensuring alignment with institutional goals and accreditation cycles.
  • Assessment Coordination: Partner with faculty to design and implement assessment plans tied to student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
  • System Management: Oversee accreditation and assessment platforms (e.g., Taskstream, SL&L), ensuring data integrity, system integration, and user training.

Priority Responsibilities:
  • Accreditation Reporting: Draft high-stakes documents ( CAEP reports, Title II, OSSE , USNWR ), synthesize data, and facilitate timely submission to accrediting bodies.
  • Data Management & Analysis: Design and manage datasets, conduct risk analysis, and generate actionable insights to guide continuous improvement.
  • Licensure Coordination: Manage program verification processes, including serving as proxy signatory for licensure forms and liaising with EPP Directors.
  • Training & Consultation: Provide faculty and staff with mentorship, resources, and technical assistance to advance accreditation readiness and data literacy.

Partnership Development and Coordination
Critical Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Partnership Management: Draft and manage MOUs, agreements, and collaboratory proposals with external academic institutions and grant funders (e.g., CASJE , ASU , University of Oregon).
  • Compliance and Policy Alignment: Ensure all agreements comply with institutional, legal, and accreditation standards; resolve compliance discrepancies and approval bottlenecks.

Priority Responsibilities:
  • Student Placement Oversight: Coordinate graduate student practicum and internship placements, including managing intake surveys, site applications, and communication workflows.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as liaison with Procurement, Finance, Legal, OGC , Risk, and faculty to support seamless partnership implementation.
  • Document & Record Management: Maintain master trackers and organize partnership documentation for external sites, ensuring contract renewal and accurate records.
  • External Funding Research: Support faculty through prospecting of grant opportunities and creation of a centralized resource for externally funded research.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

This is a hybrid position with some days in-person in Washington, DC and some days remote.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Demonstrated expertise in accreditation and higher education compliance.
  • Experience drafting and managing partnership agreements and institutional MOUs.
  • Strong project management, communication, and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently as necessary.
  • Familiarity with accreditation systems (Taskstream, SL&L), student information systems (Banner), and external partnership platforms.
