Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Program Director

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Job Type: Full-time

Position Summary

The Assistant Program Director provides leadership to staff in collaboration with the Program Director. They assist with staff supervision, training, and hiring, ensuring all operations are conducted ethically and professionally, aligned with RHD values.

Essential Duties and Functions
  1. Leadership, Staff Management, and Organizational Strategy
  • Supervise Site Supervisors, Program Specialists, Medical Staff, and Direct Support Professionals, overseeing daily operations, supervision practices, consumer plan implementation, and documentation.
  • Assist in recruitment processes, including scheduling interviews and hiring staff.
  • Support management with supervision documentation and progressive discipline as needed.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Review site documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Finance, Development, and Operations
    • Support adherence to licensing, funding, and budget requirements.
    • Provide support during crises involving individuals and staff.
    • Foster an environment that promotes skill development and resource coordination.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field from an accredited institution, or
    • High School diploma with 7 years of relevant experience in mental health/IDD direct service and 2 years of supervisory experience.

    Additional requirements include proficiency in Microsoft Office, a valid driver’s license, and passing employment screenings.

    Working Conditions
    • Primarily office setting, with visits to program sites as needed.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to sit, stand, move, and operate office equipment.
    • Physical exertion up to 50 pounds occasionally.
    • Requisite physical activities include walking, handling, climbing, talking, seeing, pushing/pulling, reaching, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and repetitive motions.
    Reporting Relationships
    • Reports to: Program Director
    • Supervises: Site Supervisors, Program Specialists, Medical Staff
