Job summary

New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center (NYPCC) in New York, NY seeks an Assistant Program Director to supervise professional and paraprofessional staff and ensure high-quality care for clients in our growing mental health clinic network.

The role reports to the Program Director and requires an NY state license (LCSW or LMHC) and a Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling, plus 4+ years of supervisory experience in mental health.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work or mental health counseling.
  • Must be licensed in NY as LCSW or LMHC.
  • SIFI certification and intern supervision experience is a plus.
  • 4+ years post-graduate supervision experience in a mental health facility.
  • On-call availability during off-hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise professional and paraprofessional staff and programs.
  • Collaborate with clinic doctors, PMHNPs, and Clinical Practice Manager.
  • Plan and conduct staff in-service trainings.
  • Review case records for regulatory compliance.
  • Provide supervision to clinicians as assigned by the Program Director.
  • Evaluate staff performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare evaluations and disciplinary actions when required.
  • Participate in team discussions to plan future treatments.

Job Description

The AssistantProgram Directorsupervises professional and paraprofessional staff to ensurea high levelof performance in their work withassigned clients.This position willreporttotheProgramDirector.

HYBRID SCHEDULE: Sunday - Thursday (Sundays will be an onsite day)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assistant Program Directorinsupervisingstaff and program activities
  • Work closely with clinicDoctors,PsychiatricNurse Practitionersand Clinical Practice Manager
  • Assistwithplanning and conducting in-service training for staff
  • Review case records to ensure that they meet regulatory requirements
  • Reviewclinical andadministrative reportswith staff, ensuring compliance with agency policies.
  • Provideindividual and group supervision to clinicians as assigned bythe ProgramDirector.
  • Evaluatethe qualityof individual workers and helpto improve the performance of workers
  • Prepare written evaluations,Corrective Action Plans, and disciplinary actions, asrequired
  • Crucial member on a clinical team, collaborating with doctors, clinical supervisors, and therapists to discuss clinical challenges and todeterminefuture treatmentplan.
  • Maintain and review program policies and procedures, ensuring they are up to date and followed by clinical staff.
  • Provide crisis interventionandassistwith client needs as necessary
  • Performother duties as assigned bytheProgramDirector.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree from an accredited school in Social WorkorMental Health Counseling
  • Must be licensed by the state of New York in theirprofessional discipline (LCSW OR LMHC)
  • SIFI certification and experience supervising Interns is a plus
  • 4 or moreyearsofpost-graduate experience as a supervisor in a mental health facility
  • Able to be on-call during off-hours and weekends by cell phone; available for consultation on an as-needed basis
  • Outstandingengagement, interpersonal communication skills,and ableto work collaboratively with other disciplines, including clinical and clerical staff
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong demonstration of professionalism
  • Takes initiative, prioritizes, andadjusts to change well
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that aretimelyand effective
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel,PowerPointand Teams.
  • Ableto workwellin a fast-paced environment
  • Maintains a positive attitude and is friendly, upbeat, and has a great “can do” personality
