Position Description:

The Department of Classical and Modern Languages at the University of Louisville invites applications for an Instructor or Assistant Professor (Term) of Spanish to begin August 1, 2025. Primary duties involve teaching courses in beginning and intermediate Spanish Language as well as courses in culture.

Candidates must hold at least an M.A. in Spanish language, literature, linguistics, applied linguistics, or a related field at the time of appointment. (Preference given to experience with Spanish for specific purposes.) The successful candidate will have native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English and demonstrated experience and excellence in language teaching in traditional, online and hybrid teaching environments, including the development of instructional materials that are communicatively oriented and reflect expertise in proficiency-based language instruction, ACTFL World Readiness Standards, and instructional technologies.
