The University of Indianapolis’ Department of Clinical Psychology(DCP) is growing and seeking a faculty member at the AssistantProfessor level beginning in Fall 2027. This is a full-time,tenure-track position within our APA-accredited PsyD program. Thesuccessful applicant for this position will be able to demonstrateoutstanding commitment to doctoral teaching and dissertationresearch mentorship. Any specialty area of interest/expertise in Clinical or CounselingPsychology is open. Additional duties include developing a programof research that engages graduate students, participating inongoing program development within the PsyD program, and serving onfaculty and university committees. The area of research interest is open, but the successfulcandidate’s area of scholarship should lend itself well to thedevelopment of a program of applied or basic research with thepotential to make a significant contribution to the literature.Furthermore, candidates should bring a strong desire to apply theirresearch expertise to chairing and mentoring studentdissertations. The program supports many project types, including: traditionalquantitative, qualitative, program development/evaluation,integrative/theoretical, and empirical single-case study designdissertation projects. The PsyD program fully promotes and furthers the value ofdiversity. UIndy is looking for candidates with a demonstratedcommitment to and success working in a variety of differentcommunities. Applicants who can demonstrate a history of effectively tutoring of students from underrepresented backgrounds will be particularly competitive. We offer opportunities for faculty,staff, and students to participate in College- and Department-leveldiversity committees. In addition, we are home to professionalorganizations. The DCP is located within an academic unit that offers anAPA-accredited PsyD program in clinical psychology; MS/MA degrees in Psychology, Mental HealthCounseling, and Social Work; MA specialization in Art Therapy; and BS degrees in Psychology andSocial Work. The doctoral program, which has adopted a practitioner-scholar model, typicallyenrolls 30-40 students per year and offers 7 concentrations,including Adult Psychopathology and Psychotherapy, HealthPsychology & Behavioral Medicine, Neuropsychology, CommunityPsychology and Social Change, Assessment, Child and adolescentpsychology and a Generalist track. Preference will be given to applicants from an APA-accrediteddoctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology who arelicensed as a psychologist or license-eligible. ABDs and doctoralcandidates currently completing internship will be considered withthe expectation of degree completion prior to starting theposition. UIndy DCP faculty are encouraged to actively engage inprovision of direct clinical services to maintain clinicalproficiency. Applicants are asked to submit a list of at least threeprofessional references, a curriculum vita, a cover letter speakingto their qualifications in relation to the positionresponsibilities, and a statement reflecting on how they infusediversity into their teaching and scholarship. The positions areopen until filled with the review of applications to beginimmediately.
