Job summary

The IMSE department seeks colleagues who can build a sustainable external funding program at the intersection of statistical quality engineering and smart manufacturing systems while contributing to teaching and curriculum across IE and Mechatronics.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of design of experiments and quality engineering methods.
• Understanding of deterministic optimization and Lean Six Sigma in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with digital manufacturing and cyber-physical systems.
• Experience with research design and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop competitive research proposals and secure external funding.
• Publish peer-reviewed research advancing department priorities.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate researchers and grow doctoral activity.
• Expand labs and data-driven manufacturing capabilities.
• Teach courses in IE and Mechatronics, including data analytics and smart manufacturing.
• Advance curricula and lab experiences across programs.
• Provide academic advising to students.
