The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at theUniversity of Houston invites applications for a tenure-trackAssistant Professor position in Sedimentology and Stratigraphy withresearch that focuses on the dynamics of ancient and/or moderncoastal, estuarine, and/or marine systems.

Applicants employing field observations, laboratory analyses,geospatial methods, geochronology, paleontology/ichnology,geochemical proxies, subsurface imaging, paleoenvironmentalreconstructions, numerical modeling, or integrative approaches tounderstand the dynamics of coastal systems and environments areencouraged to apply.

Successful candidates are expected to build active collaborationswithin and outside the university, to provide synergy with existingresearch at UH, to develop externally funded research programs thatare internationally recognized, to teach graduate and undergraduatelevel courses, and to use their research to enhance experientialeducation at UH.
