JOB DESCRIPTION:


The Division of Biology at Texas Woman's University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor with an appointment starting in Fall 2025. The committee will begin reviewing applications on November 1, 2024. Candidates should be engaged in innovative biological research and have a clear vision for building an impactful research program with potential for extramural funding that includes both undergraduates and graduate students. We are particularly interested in strong candidates who wish to study molecular mechanisms of important biological processes and who will complement our existing strengths. Areas of specialization that are particularly desirable include, but are not limited to:



Molecular and Cellular Biology


Neurobiology


Signal Transduction


Gene Expression


Protein Translation


Microbiology & Infectious Disease

Stem Cell Biology & Regeneration

Successful candidates will also have teaching experience and a desire to teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses. Biology is one of the largest divisions in the School of the Sciences at TWU with over 500 undergraduate majors and 65 graduate students in MS, PhD, and Professional Science Masters (PSM) programs. The Division of Biology is well equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation, and modern research laboratories are housed in the Scientific Research Commons. TWU takes pride in interdisciplinary programs and is committed to fostering new collaborations across education, nursing, health science and basic science departments. The Division of Biology contributes significantly to the mission of the University through scholarly endeavors, engagement of students, and outreach to the community and profession.
