Job summary
Texas A&M AgriLife Research in Texas invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Precision Ranching. This 12-month, 100% research appointment is housed at the San Angelo center with strong preference for base at the Sonora Station, engaging with regional stakeholders to address needs through research.
The successful candidate will develop a nationally recognized program focused on productivity, profitability, and sustainability of rangeland systems using precision technologies,
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Rangeland Science, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, or related field by appointment date.
- Experience with rangeland production systems and management practices.
- Proficiency in precision agriculture technologies, data analytics, and related tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a nationally recognized, externally funded research program.
- Conduct fundamental, applied, and translational research in precision ranching.
- Publish in peer‑reviewed journals and translate findings for stakeholder use.
- Mentor graduate students and supervise research personnel.
- Secure extramural funding from varied sources.
- Collaborate with AgriLife faculty, industry, and government partners.
- Translate research into practical applications for stakeholder impact.
- Contribute to IP development and technology transfer activities.
