Job summary

Texas A&M University VMBS seeks a tenure-track assistant professor to lead applied research in ruminant health focused on beef and dairy industries in the Texas High Plains. The role supports IACUC activities, Hatch projects, and Multistate collaborations, with a strong emphasis on training graduate students and post‑docs.

The successful candidate will contribute to outreach, collaborate across the VER0 program, and help build an extramurally funded research program in a growing animal health

Qualifications

• PhD in a discipline relevant to ruminant animal health with scholarly record.
• DVM with specialty training related to ruminant production systems and scholarship potential.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain financial support for research and training of graduate students and post‑docs.
• Provide IACUC service and oversight.
• Establish and maintain USDA Hatch project and engage in USDA Multistate Research projects.
• Coordinate research activities at shared cattle facilities and participate in outreach.
