The Department of Chemistry invitesapplications from individuals committed to being excellentteacher-scholars at a primarily undergraduate institution. Thesuccessful candidate will be expected to teach a 3/2 course loadincluding foundational organic chemistry courses, teachinglaboratory courses, and advanced courses in their sub-discipline toboth undergraduate and graduate (Masters) students. Candidates withexpertise in materials science and/or polymer chemistry areespecially encouraged to apply. The faculty candidate will beexpected to establish a viable research program, supported byexternal funding, and supervise/train student researchers at boththe undergraduate and graduate (Masters) levels. The facultycandidate will also be expected to participate in serviceactivities at the department, collegiate, and university level asneeded. The candidate hired for this position will be assignedlaboratory and office space appropriate to their teaching and research needs.
Ph.D. inChemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or relatedfield. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointmentdate will be considered.
One year of experience as an instructor or teaching assistant in organic chemistry in a university setting is preferred. Candidates with expertise in materials science and/or polymer chemistry are especially encouraged to apply.
