Delta State University in Mississippi seeks an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education to coordinate the Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education program, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, advise students, and engage in research and service to advance the quality of the teacher education program.

The successful candidate will participate in committees, contribute to accreditation efforts, and support online learning initiatives within the School of Teacher Education.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the person assuming this positionwill be coordinating the Bachelor of Science in Secondary Educationdegree program, teaching both graduate and undergraduate classes,advising students, conducting research, publishing in professionaljournals, serving on various committees, and assumingresponsibility for helping to develop and maintain a qualitysecondary teacher education program in the School of TeacherEducation. Additionally, the successful candidate will assume otherduties as requested by the Dean of the CEAH and the Chair of theSchool of Teacher Education.

Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate in education with an advanced degree orcredentials in secondary education.


• Minimum of 5 years experience teaching in the P-12 classroom.Earned renewable teaching license.


• Preferred experience in higher education teaching and coordinatingin secondary education program.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university'sresources.
